George C. Marshall Statesmen (Falls Church, VA) backers were pleased Tuesday as they witnessed their volleyball team tip the host Washington-Liberty Generals (Arlington, VA), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Statesmen (7-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Langley (McLean, VA). The Saxons come into the non-league challenge with a 8-4 record. In their last challenge, Langley was nudged by Yorktown (Arlington, VA), 2-1, in a non-league test.

The Generals now sport a 0-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Oakton for a non-league test on Thursday, October 16. Washington-Liberty will face a Cougars squad coming off a 2-0 non-league win over Chantilly (Chantilly, VA). The Cougars record now stands at 9-1.
