In Tuesday's non-league outing, the host Lakeland Thunderbirds soccer squad scored a tight 4-0 victory over the Merrill Bluejays.

The Thunderbirds (13-0) will now prepare for their outing against Northland Pines (Eagle River, WI). The Eagles go into the Great Northern test with a 11-5 record. In their last test, Northland Pines edged Rhinelander (Rhinelander, WI), 2-0, in a league test.

The Bluejays now have a 4-10 record. They take the field next when they host Mosinee for a Great Northern test on Thursday, October 16. Merrill will clash with a Indians team coming off a 2-1 league loss to Medford (Medford, WI). The Indians record now stands at 8-7.
