Armstrong Trojans (Armstrong, IL) backers were pleased Tuesday as they witnessed their volleyball team overcome the host Hoopeston Cornjerkers (Hoopeston, IL), 2-0 in a league challenge.

The Trojans (17-9) will now prepare for their challenge against Chrisman (Chrisman, IL). The Cardinals come into the Vermilion Valley challenge with a 10-13 record. In their last outing, Chrisman lost by Westville (Westville, IL), 2-0, in a league outing.

With the loss, Hoopeston drops to 4-17 on the campaign. The Cornjerkers host Watseka (Watseka, IL) to play the Warriors in a Vermilion Valley outing on Thursday, October 16. The Warriors come into the outing with a record of 18-10. Watseka lost 2-1 in their recent non-league game against Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley (Gibson City, IL)
