The Gillespie Miners volleyball team scored 2 points and restricted the visiting Staunton Bulldogs to 1 in the Miners league triumph on Tuesday.

The Miners now have a 9-18 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Vandalia for a South Central game on Thursday, October 16. Gillespie will confront a Vandals squad coming off a 2-0 league loss to Southwestern (Piasa, IL). The Vandals record now stands at 2-25.

The Bulldogs (19-12) will now prepare for their game against Greenville (Greenville, IL). The Comets go into the South Central game with a 6-18 record. In their last game, Greenville was edged by Hillsboro (Hillsboro, IL), 2-0, in a league game.
