The Merkel Badgers volleyball team (Merkel, TX), went down 3-0 in Saturday's league challenge with the visiting Lamesa Tornadoes (Lamesa, TX)

The Tornadoes (6-17) will now prepare for their challenge against Coahoma (Coahoma, TX). The Bulldogs come into the 3A Region I District 3 challenge with a 15-15 record. In their last challenge, Coahoma went down by Brownfield (Brownfield, TX), 3-2, in a league challenge.

Next, the Badgers encounter the Denver City Mustangs (Denver City, TX) in a 3A Region I District 3 challenge, on Tuesday, October 18. Merkel will attempt to move on its 1-18 season record. The Mustangs come into the challenge with a 16-18 record after their 3-0 league loss to Compass Academy (Odessa, TX).
