In Tuesday's league challenge, the host Mercedes Tigers volleyball team scored a 3-0 triumph over the Donna North Chiefs.

The Tigers (5-16) will now prepare for their challenge against Edcouch-Elsa (Edcouch, TX). The Yellowjackets come into the 5A Region IV District 32 challenge with a 22-13 record. In their last challenge, Edcouch-Elsa beat Harlingen South (Harlingen, TX), 3-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Chiefs play the Rivera Raiders (Brownsville, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 32 challenge, on Saturday, October 19. Donna North will attempt to upgrade on its 2-22 season record. The Raiders come into the challenge with a 27-8 record after their 3-0 league win over Porter (Brownsville, TX).
