Fort Chiswell Pioneers (Max Meadows, VA) boosters left the game thrilled Tuesday as they saw their volleyball squad achieve victory over the host George Wythe Maroons (Wytheville, VA), 3-0 in a league test.

With the win, Fort Chiswell improves its record to 7-10 on the season. The Pioneers travel to Giles (Pearisburg, VA) to battle the Spartans in a Mountain Empire contest on Wednesday, October 16. The Spartans enter the contest with a record of 13-3. Giles won 3-1 in their recent non-league contest against Radford (Radford, VA)

Next, the Maroons battle the Grayson County Blue Devils (Independence, VA) in a Mountain Empire contest, on Thursday, October 17. George Wythe will attempt to move on its 9-12 season record. The Blue Devils enter the contest with a 13-4 record after their 3-0 league win over Auburn (Riner, VA).
