In Tuesday's league challenge, the host Mitchell/Spray/Wheeler volleyball team scored a close 3-2 triumph over the Ione/Arlington Cardinals.

The (18-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Bickleton (Bickleton, WA). The Pirates come into the 1A Big Sky challenge with a 8-11 record. In their last challenge, Bickleton edged Riverside (Boardman, OR), 3-2, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Cardinals play the Condon Blue Devils (Condon, OR) in a 1A Big Sky challenge, on Thursday, October 17. Ione/Arlington will attempt to upgrade on its 16-6 season record. The Blue Devils come into the challenge with a 7-10 record after their 3-2 league win over Sherman (Moro, OR).
