Texas High School Volleyball - Vela tips McAllen Memorial

October 15, 2024: McAllen, TX 78501

Fans at Tuesday's league contest between the Vela Sabercats (Edinburg, TX) and the host McAllen Memorial Mustangs (McAllen, TX), observed Vela's volleyball team hold off McAllen Memorial by a count of 3-2.

The Sabercats (28-8) will now prepare for their contest against McAllen (McAllen, TX). The Bulldogs enter the 5A Region IV District 31 contest with a 26-11 record. In their last contest, McAllen got by Pioneer (Mission, TX), 3-1, in a league contest.

Next, the Mustangs battle the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial Wolverines (Alamo, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 31 contest, on Saturday, October 19. McAllen Memorial will attempt to move on its 23-11 season record. The Wolverines enter the contest with a 1-17 record after their 3-0 league loss to Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North (Pharr, TX).
