Fans at Wednesday's non-league battle between the Charlotte Catholic Cougars (Charlotte, NC) and the host Porter Ridge Pirates (Indian Trail, NC), saw Charlotte Catholic's soccer squad hold off Porter Ridge by a score of 1-0.

The Cougars (12-1) will now prepare for their battle against Sun Valley (Monroe, NC). The Spartans come into the non-league test with a 4-10 record. In their last test, Sun Valley was tipped by Weddington (Matthews, NC), 2-1, in a non-league test.

The Pirates now sport a 9-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Piedmont for a non-league test on Monday, October 20. Porter Ridge will meet a Panthers team coming off a 3-0 non-league loss to Cuthbertson (Waxhaw, NC). The Panthers record now stands at 2-11.
