New York High School Soccer - Corinth held off by Bolton Central
October 15, 2025: Corinth, NY 12822
In Wednesday's league contest, the Bolton Central Eagles (Bolton Landing, NY) soccer team edged the host Corinth Riverhawks (Corinth, NY), by a count of 2-1.
Match Summary
The Eagles efforts would be rewarded midway through the first half as Will Hens would finish a ball that would prove to be too much for the Corinth keeper to handle. The BW attack would continue to plague the Riverhawk defense, and failure to clear the ball would result in BW's Benjamin Birkholz finding the ball and poking it to the back of the net to put the Eagles up by two at the half. The second half told a different story. The Riverhawks took the field with renewed purpose, and much of this half would see the Eagle defense back on their heels. Their efforts would now be rewarded with a penalty kick resulting from a hand ball inside the box. Noah Thompson would finish the job, and put the Riverhawks within one. The Corinth attack would relentlessly track down the ball and were able to break the BW defense on multiple occasions, touching off a flurry of shots that seemed to connect with every part of the goal except for the elusive back of it.
