Fans at Wednesday's league battle between the West Lincoln Rebels (Lincolnton, NC) and the host East Gaston Warriors (Mt. Holly, NC), saw West Lincoln's soccer squad hold off East Gaston by a count of 2-1.

The Rebels (11-8) will now prepare for their battle against Burns (Lawndale, NC). The Bulldogs enter the Southern Piedmont 2A/3A/4A battle with a 13-3 record. In their last battle, Burns was tipped by Highland Tech (Gastonia, NC), 2-1, in a league match.

The Warriors now sport a 2-13 record. They take the field next when they travel to Bessemer City for a Southern Piedmont 2A/3A/4A match on Monday, October 20. East Gaston will meet a Yellow Jackets team coming off a 3-2 league loss to Shelby (Shelby, NC). The Yellow Jackets record now stands at 8-11.
