In Wednesday's league outing, the visiting Wilkes Central Eagles soccer squad scored a nice 10-1 victory over the North Wilkes Vikings.

The Eagles (10-4) will now prepare for their outing against Elkin (Elkin, NC). The Buckin' Elks go into the Mountain Valley 2A/3A/4A outing with a 16-2 record. In their last outing, Elkin was overwhelmed by Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC), 3-1, in a league outing.

Next up, the Vikings confront the Winston-Salem Preparatory Academy Phoenix (Winston-Salem, NC) in a non-league test, on Friday, October 17. North Wilkes will attempt to advance on its 4-12 season record. The Phoenix come into the test with a 0-6 record after their 2-0 league loss to South Davidson (Denton, NC).
