Fans at Wednesday's non-league contest between the Breathitt County Bobcats (Jackson, KY) and the host Betsy Layne Bobcats (Betsy Layne, KY), observed Breathitt County's volleyball team hold off Betsy Layne by a tally of 3-2.

The Bobcats (19-9) will now prepare for their contest against Powell County (Stanton, KY). The Pirates enter the non-league contest with a 17-14 record. In their last contest, Powell County got by Estill County (Irvine, KY), 3-2, in a league contest.

Next, the Bobcats meet the Paintsville Tigers (Paintsville, KY) in a non-league test, on Thursday, October 16. Betsy Layne will attempt to improve on its 16-12 season record. The Tigers go into the test with a 23-10 record after their 3-0 non-league win over Shelby Valley (Pikeville, KY).
