The Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC) soccer overwhelmed the host Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC), 7-1 in Wednesday's league challenge.

The Pioneers now hold a 10-3 record. They play next when they host Hibriten for a Northwestern 3A/4A challenge on Monday, October 21. Watauga will encounter a Panthers squad coming off a 3-0 league win over Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC). The Panthers record now stands at 14-3.

With the loss, Freedom moves to 4-11 on the year. The Patriots travel to Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC) to encounter the Huskies in a Northwestern 3A/4A challenge on Monday, October 21. The Huskies go into the challenge with a record of 8-6. Ashe County lost 2-1 in their recent league challenge against South Caldwell (Hudson, NC)
