In Thursday's league challenge, the visiting Mountain View Spartans volleyball team scored a close 2-1 triumph over the Los Altos Eagles.

The Spartans (10-3) will now prepare for their test against Gilroy (Gilroy, CA). The Mustangs go into the non-league test with a 13-9 record. In their last test, Gilroy was edged by Lincoln (San Jose, CA), 2-1, in a league test.

The Eagles now own a 5-11 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Monta Vista for a test on Tuesday, October 21. Los Altos will face a Matadors squad coming off a 2-0 league loss to Palo Alto (Palo Alto, CA). The Matadors record now stands at 14-8.
