Fans at Thursday's league contest between the Carterville Lions (Carterville, IL) and the visiting Murphysboro Red Devils (Murphysboro, IL), observed Carterville's volleyball team top Murphysboro by a count of 2-0.

The Lions (17-11) will now prepare for their contest against Grayville (Grayville, IL). The Bison enter the non-league contest with a 11-16 record. In their last contest, Grayville was knocked off by Wayne City (Wayne City, IL), 2-0, in a non-league contest.

Next, the Red Devils battle the Nashville Hornets (Nashville, IL) in a non-league battle, on Tuesday, October 21. Murphysboro will attempt to improve on its 13-11 season record. The Hornets go into the battle with a 18-11 record after their 2-0 league win over DuQuoin (DuQuoin, IL).
