Fans at Thursday's league contest between the Fort Thomas Apaches (Fort Thomas, AZ) and the visiting Valley Lutheran Flames (Phoenix, AZ), observed Fort Thomas's volleyball team top Valley Lutheran by a tally of 3-0.

The Apaches (14-5) will now prepare for their contest against Ray (Kearny, AZ). The Bearcats enter the 1A - East contest with a 8-12 record. In their last contest, Ray was beaten by Duncan (Duncan, AZ), 1-0, in a non-league test.

The Flames now own a 3-13 record. They put it on the line next when they host Cicero Prep Academy for a 1A - East test on Tuesday, October 21. Valley Lutheran will face a Centurions squad coming off a 3-1 non-league loss to Phoenix Country Day (Paradise Valley, AZ). The Centurions record now stands at 22-9.
