Illinois High School Volleyball - Wilmington over Reed-Custer

The Wilmington Wildcats volleyball team scored 2 points and restricted the visiting Reed-Custer Comets to 0 in the Wildcats league triumph on Thursday.

The Wildcats now possess a 23-3 record. They play next when they travel to Prairie Central for a non-league outing on Saturday, October 18. Wilmington will play a Hawks team coming off a 2-1 league loss to St. Thomas More (Champaign, IL). The Hawks record now stands at 14-13.

The Comets (3-26) will now prepare for their game against Lisle (Lisle, IL). The Lions enter the Illinois Central Eight game with a 15-17 record.

The Lady Cats had a successful evening on their Volley for a Cure Night against Reed-Custer winning at all 3 levels. Varsity won 25-21, 25-13. JV won . Freshman won 25-10, 25-16. Leading the way offensively was Rachel Smith with 8 kills to go along with her 14 digs, 2 aces and a solo block. Melia Hincherick was right behind her with 13 digs, 6 kills, and a block. Sami Liaromatis added another 12 digs and 3 aces.
