In Monday's league battle, the visiting Swain County Maroon Devils soccer squad scored a close 5-1 triumph over the Hayesville Yellowjackets.

The Maroon Devils (10-8) will now prepare for their battle against Cherokee (Cherokee, NC). The Braves come into the Smoky Mountain 1A battle with a 3-8 record. In their last battle, Cherokee nudged Andrews (Andrews, NC), 3-1, in a league battle.
