In Tuesday's league battle, the host San Leandro Pirates volleyball team scored a tight 3-2 triumph over the Alameda Hornets.

The Pirates (7-17) will now prepare for their battle against Encinal (Alameda, CA). The Jets come into the West Alameda County - Foothill battle with a 19-11 record. In their last battle, Encinal was edged by Head-Royce (Oakland, CA), 3-0, in a non-league battle.

Next, the Hornets clash with the Castro Valley Trojans (Castro Valley, CA) in a West Alameda County - Foothill battle, on Thursday, October 19. Alameda will attempt to advance on its 8-15 season record. The Trojans come into the battle with a 19-9 record after their 3-1 league win over Bishop O'Dowd (Oakland, CA).
