In Thursday's league outing, the host New Hanover Wildcats soccer squad scored a tight 2-1 victory over the Laney Buccaneers.

The Wildcats (11-6) will now prepare for their outing against Topsail (Hampstead, NC). The Pirates go into the Mideastern 3A/4A outing with a 13-6 record. In their last outing, Topsail was edged by Hoggard (Wilmington, NC), 9-1, in a league outing.

Next up, the Buccaneers confront the Hoggard Vikings (Wilmington, NC) in a Mideastern 3A/4A outing, on Tuesday, October 22. Laney will attempt to improve on its 13-6 season record. The Vikings go into the outing with a 14-2 record after their 9-1 league win over Topsail (Hampstead, NC).
