Fans at Thursday's league battle between the Niwot Cougars (Niwot, CO) and the visiting Mead Mavericks (Longmont, CO), saw Niwot's soccer squad hold off Mead by a count of 2-1.

The Cougars (7-4) will now prepare for their battle against Frederick (Frederick, CO). The Golden Eagles enter the 4A/3A Granite Peaks battle with a 3-9 record. In their last battle, Frederick was edged by Holy Family (Broomfield, CO), 1-0, in a league battle.

Next up, the Mavericks confront the Centaurus Warriors (Lafayette, CO) in a 4A/3A Granite Peaks battle, on Tuesday, October 22. Mead will attempt to upgrade on its 5-5 season record. The Warriors enter the battle with a 8-3 record after their 2-0 league win over Longmont (Longmont, CO).
