In Thursday's league contest, the Monomoy Sharks (Harwich, MA) soccer team edged the host Nantucket Whalers (Nantucket, MA), by a count of 1-0.
Next, the Sharks battle the Sturgis West Navigators (Hyannis, MA) in a non-league contest, on Monday, October 21. Monomoy will attempt to upgrade on its 8-5 season record. The Navigators enter the contest with a 4-9 record after their 1-1 non-league Dennis-Yarmouth Regional (South Yarmouth, MA).
The Whalers (7-2) will now prepare for their contest against Falmouth Academy (Falmouth, MA). The Mariners enter the Cape and Islands contest with a 2-7 record. In their last contest, Falmouth Academy was nipped by Rising Tide (Plymouth, MA), 6-1, in a non-league contest.
