In Thursday's league challenge, the visiting Lunenburg Central Chargers volleyball team scored a 3-1 triumph over the Nottoway Cougars.
The Chargers (15-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Cumberland (Cumberland, VA). The Dukes come into the James River challenge with a 3-12 record. In their last challenge, Cumberland lost by Amelia County (Amelia Court House, VA), 3-0, in a league challenge.
Next, the Cougars play the Arcadia Firebirds (Oak Hall, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, October 21. Nottoway will attempt to upgrade on its 7-9 season record. The Firebirds come into the challenge with a 1-13 record after their 3-1 league loss to Northampton (Eastville, VA).
