In Friday's non-league challenge, the host Quemado Eagles volleyball team scored a 3-0 triumph over the Mountainair Mustangs.
The Eagles (14-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Magdalena (Magdalena, NM). The Steers go into the 1A District 2 test with a 11-5 record.
The Mustangs now sport a 4-10 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Vaughn for a 1A District 3 game on Tuesday, October 21. Mountainair will play a Eagles team coming off a 3-0 league loss to Carrizozo (Carrizozo, NM). The Eagles record now stands at 0-5.
