Independence Patriots (Charlotte, NC) fans were thrilled Tuesday as they observed their soccer team knock off the host East Mecklenburg Eagles (Charlotte, NC), 3-0 in a league challenge.

Next, the Patriots face the Rocky River CMS Athletics (Mint Hill, NC) in a Southwestern 4A challenge, on Thursday, October 20. Independence will attempt to better on its 9-8 season record. The CMS Athletics enter the challenge with a 0-9 record after their 5-1 league loss to Providence (Charlotte, NC).

The Eagles now have a 7-8 record. They take the field next when they host Charlotte Catholic for a Southwestern 4A challenge on Thursday, October 20. East Mecklenburg will face a Cougars team coming off a 2-1 league win over Butler (Matthews, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 11-6.
