The crowd at Tuesday's league bout between the Wilmington Wildcats (Wilmington, IL) and the visiting Peotone Blue Devils (Peotone, IL), saw Wilmington's volleyball squad beat Peotone by a tally of 2-0.
With the win, Wilmington upgrades its record to 15-16 on the year. The Wildcats travel to Herscher (Herscher, IL) to play the Tigers in a Illinois Central Eight bout on Wednesday, October 19. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 13-21. Herscher lost 2-1 in their recent league bout against Manteno (Manteno, IL)
The Blue Devils now own a 14-12 record. They play next when they travel to Washington for a non-league bout on Saturday, October 22. Peotone will play a Panthers squad coming off a 2-1 league win over Morton (Morton, IL). The Panthers record now stands at 17-12.

Tuesday night the Lady Wildcats celebrated 5 seniors before playing the Peotone Blue Devils. All 5 seniors, Haley Dempsay, Grace Burkey, Olivia Hansen, Breanna Horton, and Jaylee Mills, have left their mark on the court in some way. Dempsay and Horton are defensive specialists, Burkey as a setter, Hansen as an outside hitter, and Mills as a middle blocker. These 5 won their last home game with each contributing to the 25-20, 25-21 win. Dempsay had 3 digs. Burkey had 5 digs and 8 assists. Hansen had 2 blocks, 2 kills, 1 did and 1 ace. Horton had 5 digs. Mills had 9 kills and 6 blocks. These girls will truly be missed on the court and will leave some pretty big shoes to fill next year.
