In Wednesday's league battle, the visiting Highlands Highlanders soccer squad scored a close 3-2 triumph over the Swain County Maroon Devils.
The Highlanders (13-4) will now prepare for their battle against Blue Ridge Early College (Cashiers, NC). The Bobcats come into the Smoky Mountain 1A battle with a 12-4 record. In their last battle, Blue Ridge Early College nudged Cherokee (Cherokee, NC), 7-0, in a league battle.
The Maroon Devils (5-12) will now prepare for their battle against Cherokee (Cherokee, NC). The Braves come into the Smoky Mountain 1A battle with a 2-8 record. In their last battle, Cherokee was nudged by Blue Ridge Early College (Cashiers, NC), 7-0, in a league battle.
