The crowd at Friday's league contest between the L'Anse Purple Hornets (L'Anse, MI) and the visiting Gwinn Modeltowners (Gwinn, MI), witnessed L'Anse's football squad knock off Gwinn by a tally of 40-22.
The Purple Hornets (1-7) will now prepare for their contest against Calumet (Calumet, MI). The Copper Kings enter the non-league contest with a 5-3 record. In their last contest, Calumet gained a win over Gladstone (Gladstone, MI), 19-6, in a league contest.
Coming up next, the Modeltowners battle the West Iron County Wykons (Iron River, MI) in a Western Peninsula - Iron contest, on Friday, October 25. Gwinn will attempt to better on its 2-6 season record. The Wykons enter the contest with a 3-5 record after their 49-0 league loss to Bark River-Harris (Harris, MI).
