Fans at Friday's league contest between the Chisum Mustangs (Paris, TX) and the visiting Mount Vernon Tigers (Mount Vernon, TX), observed Chisum's volleyball team hold off Mount Vernon by a count of 3-2.

The Mustangs (20-12) will now prepare for their contest against Prairiland (Pattonville, TX). The Patriots enter the 3A Region II District 12 contest with a 25-12 record. In their last contest, Prairiland got by Commerce (Commerce, TX), 3-2, in a league contest.

Next, the Tigers meet the Lone Oak Buffaloes (Lone Oak, TX) in a 3A Region II District 12 contest, on Tuesday, October 22. Mount Vernon will attempt to move on its 4-21 season record. The Buffaloes come into the bout with a 24-9 record after their 3-1 league win over Rains (Emory, TX).
