The Lake Balboa College Prep Cougars defeated the Magnolia Science Academy #2 Van Nuys Mustangs in 4 sets at the Cougadome. LBCP started very cold in set 1 before gradually pulling even then pulling away from a spirited Mustang squad. In set 2 Lake Balboa pretty much controlled the match winning with alacrity. Set 3 started as a repeat of 1 but this time there was no Silky Sullivan finish for the Cougars as MSA Van Nuys won handily. The 2 teams traded blows in set 4 until the Cougars doggedly decided to hang on to the lead & take it home. Darla Wiltz: 21 passes with no REs, 14 kills, 9 aces, & 7 digs. Molly Yeagley had 23 digs. Maneh Parsadanyan: 22 assists & 18 digs. Alice Moussiesse hit .304 with 9 kills on 23 swings & 2 block solos. Athena Orujyan hit an unbelievable.556 with 5 kills on 9 attacks & 7 digs.
