In Friday's league challenge, the host Vale Vikings volleyball team scored a 3-1 victory over the McLoughlin Pioneers.
The Vikings (12-10) will now prepare for their challenge against Riverside (Boardman, OR). The Pirates enter the 3A Eastern Oregon challenge with a 5-14 record. In their last challenge, Riverside was beaten by Pilot Rock (Pilot Rock, OR), 3-2, in a non-league challenge.
Next, the Pioneers meet the Burns Hilanders (Burns, OR) in a 3A Eastern Oregon challenge, on Saturday, October 19. McLoughlin will attempt to upgrade on its 11-12 season record. The Hilanders enter the challenge with a 33-4 record after their 3-0 league win over Umatilla (Umatilla, OR).
