In Saturday's non-league challenge, the host Maplewood Baptist Academy Black Bears volleyball team scored a close 3-2 victory over the Big Bay de Noc Black Bears.

The Black Bears (9-8) will now prepare for their challenge against Mackinac Island (Mackinac Island, MI). The Lakers enter the Northern Lights challenge with a 12-4 record. In their last challenge, Mackinac Island got by Nah Tah Wahsh (Wilson, MI), 3-0, in a league test.

The Black Bears now own a 12-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Superior Central for a non-league test on Thursday, October 23.
