Longmeadow Lancers (Longmeadow, MA) fans were thrilled Thursday as they observed their soccer team hold off the host Amherst-Pelham Regional Hurricanes (Amherst, MA), 2-1 in a league challenge.

Next, the Lancers face the Pope Francis Prep Cardinals (Springfield, MA) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, October 20. Longmeadow will attempt to better on its 3-3 season record. The Cardinals enter the challenge with a 7-4 record after their 2-2 league Pittsfield (Pittsfield, MA).

The Hurricanes now have a 2-10 record.
