In Saturday's non-league challenge, the host Beecher Bobcats volleyball team scored a close 2-1 triumph over the Wilmington Wildcats.
The Bobcats (20-9) will now prepare for their challenge against Tri-Valley (Downs, IL). The Vikings come into the non-league challenge with a 15-6 record. In their last challenge, Tri-Valley edged Fisher (Fisher, IL), 2-0, in a league challenge.
Next, the Wildcats play the Bradley-Bourbonnais Boilermakers (Bradley, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, October 19. Wilmington will attempt to upgrade on its 22-8 season record. The Boilermakers come into the challenge with a 13-14 record after their 2-0 league loss to Lockport (Lockport, IL).

The Lady Wildcats finished 3rd out of 12 teams at the Bradley Bourbonnais Volleyball Tournament on Saturday. They ended 2-2 for the day beating Tri-Valley 25-15, 25-21 and Newark for 3rd 11-25, 25-21,15-9 and losing to Beecher 25-15,19-25, 11-15 and BBCHS 20-25, 25-19,11-15. Rachel Smith and Molly Southall were nominated to the All-Tournament Team. Smith had 30 kills, 31 digs, 4 blocks and 3 aces for the day. Southall had 48 assists, 33 digs,15 kills, 4 blocks and 2 aces. Also having an amazing day was Skylar Knight with 52 digs, 6 aces, and 3 assists, Reese Van Duyne with 25 kills, 13 digs, 4 blocks and 4 aces, and Maggie Lindsey with 12 kills, 11 blocks, 9 digs, and 6 aces.
