In Saturday's non-league challenge, the host Petoskey Northmen volleyball team scored a 2-0 victory over the Lake City Trojans.

The Northmen (21-10) will now prepare for their challenge against Elk Rapids (Elk Rapids, MI). The Elks enter the non-league challenge with a 20-8 record. In their last challenge, Elk Rapids was beaten by Kingsley (Kingsley, MI), 3-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Trojans meet the Boyne City Ramblers (Boyne City, MI) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, October 19. Lake City will attempt to upgrade on its 11-24 season record. The Ramblers enter the challenge with a 26-9 record after their 3-0 league win over Grayling (Grayling, MI).
