Hibriten Panthers (Lenoir, NC) supporters were pleased Monday as they observed their soccer team hold off the visiting Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC), 1-0 in a league challenge.

Next, the Panthers confront the South Caldwell Spartans (Hudson, NC) in a Northwestern 3A/4A challenge, on Wednesday, October 4. Hibriten will attempt to move on its 11-2 season record. The Spartans enter the challenge with a 4-6 record after their 1-0 league win over Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC).

The Cougars now possess a 9-3 record. They take the field next when they host Freedom for a Northwestern 3A/4A challenge on Thursday, October 5. Alexander Central will confront a Patriots team coming off a 3-0 league loss to Watauga (Boone, NC). The Patriots record now stands at 4-5.
