Spectators at Monday's non-league match between the Gainesville Red Elephants (Gainesville, GA) and the host Chestatee War Eagles (Gainesville, GA), witnessed Gainesville's softball squad tip Chestatee by a count of 16-10.

The Red Elephants now sport a 1-23 record. They play next when they host Lanier for a 6A Region 8 match on Tuesday, October 3. Gainesville will face a Longhorns squad coming off a 7-4 league loss to Shiloh (Snellville, GA). The Longhorns record now stands at 4-18.

With the loss, Chestatee moves to 4-16 on the season. The War eagles host Seckinger (Buford, GA) to face the Jaguars in a 4A Region 8 match on Tuesday, October 3. The Jaguars go into the match with a record of 16-8. Seckinger won 15-3 in their recent non-league match against Peachtree Ridge (Suwanee, GA)
