The Mount Airy Granite Bears soccer squad scored 9 points and held the visiting Alleghany Trojans to 0 in the Granite Bears league victory on Wednesday.

The Granite Bears now hold a 6-2 record. They play next when they host Surry Central for a non-league bout on Thursday, October 3. Mount Airy will play a Golden Eagles squad coming off a 7-0 league win over East Surry (Pilot Mountain, NC). The Golden Eagles record now stands at 6-4.

With the loss, Alleghany moves to 4-4 on the year. The Trojans travel to South Stokes (Walnut Cove, NC) to play the Sauras in a Northwest 1A bout on Monday, October 7. The Sauras go into the bout with a record of 5-8. South Stokes won 9-0 in their recent league bout against North Stokes (Danbury, NC)
