Fans at Wednesday's league battle between the Lejeune Devil Pups (Camp Lejeune, NC) and the host Southside Seahawks (Chocowinity, NC), saw Lejeune's soccer squad hold off Southside by a count of 1-0.

The Devil Pups (5-5) will now prepare for their battle against East Carteret (Beaufort, NC). The Mariners enter the Coastal Plains 1A/2A battle with a 1-8 record. In their last battle, East Carteret tipped Pamlico County (Bayboro, NC), 10-0, in a league battle.

Next up, the Seahawks confront the Washington Montessori Eagles (Washington, NC) in a non-league battle, on Thursday, October 3. Southside will attempt to upgrade on its 7-6 season record. The Eagles enter the battle with a 1-7 record after their 4-1 non-league loss to Mattamuskeet (Swan Quarter, NC).
