Fans at Wednesday's non-league battle between the St. Francis Gladiators (Traverse City, MI) and the visiting Leland Comets (Leland, MI), saw St. Francis's soccer squad hold off Leland by a count of 2-1.

The Gladiators (12-5) will now prepare for their battle against Suttons Bay (Suttons Bay, MI). The Norsemen enter the non-league battle with a 7-9 record. In their last battle, Suttons Bay tipped Buckley (Buckley, MI), 4-0, in a league battle.

Next up, the Comets confront the Glen Lake Lakers (Maple City, MI) in a Northwest battle, on Monday, October 7. Leland will attempt to upgrade on its 14-2 season record. The Lakers enter the battle with a 7-7 record after their 9-1 non-league loss to Manistee (Manistee, MI).
