In Wednesday's non-league challenge, the host Kearny Kardinals volleyball team scored a close 2-1 victory over the McNair Academic Cougars.

The Kardinals (9-4) will now prepare for their challenge against North Bergen (North Bergen, NJ). The Bruins enter the non-league challenge with a 4-5 record. In their last challenge, North Bergen was tipped by Bayonne (Bayonne, NJ), 2-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Cougars meet the Hudson Catholic Hawks (Jersey City, NJ) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, October 4. McNair Academic will attempt to upgrade on its 8-3 season record. The Hawks enter the challenge with a 0-9 record after their 2-0 league loss to Memorial (West New York, NJ).
