Fans at Thursday's non-league battle between the Westlake Thunder (Saratoga Springs, UT) and the visiting Salt Lake Academy Griffins (Herriman, UT), saw Westlake's soccer squad triumph over Salt Lake Academy by a count of 5-0.
The Thunder (8-9) will now prepare for their battle against Cedar Valley (Eagle Mountain, UT). The Aviators enter the battle with a 4-10 record. In their last match, Cedar Valley was overwhelmed by Mountain Ridge (Herriman, UT), 2-1, in a non-league match.
The Griffins now sport a 2-12 record. They take the field next when they travel to Mountain Ridge for a non-league match on Tuesday, October 7. Salt Lake Academy will meet a Sentinels team coming off a 2-1 non-league win over Cedar Valley (Eagle Mountain, UT). The Sentinels record now stands at 10-6.
