Fans at Thursday's non-league contest between the Rustburg Red Devils (Rustburg, VA) and the visiting Amherst County Lancers (Amherst, VA), observed Rustburg's volleyball team hold off Amherst County by a count of 2-1.

The Red Devils (7-3) will now prepare for their contest against Brookville (Lynchburg, VA). The Bees enter the non-league contest with a 5-2 record.

The Lancers now own a 6-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Liberty Christian for a non-league battle on Tuesday, October 7. Amherst County will encounter a Bulldogs squad coming off a 2-0 non-league win over Liberty (Bedford, VA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 4-7.
