Fans at Thursday's non-league contest between the Randolph-Henry Statesmen (Charlotte Court House, VA) and the host Cumberland Dukes (Cumberland, VA), observed Randolph-Henry's volleyball team hold off Cumberland by a count of 2-1.

The Statesmen (9-2) will now prepare for their contest against Prince Edward County (Farmville, VA). The Eagles go into the non-league battle with a 0-6 record. In their last battle, Prince Edward County was edged by Lunenburg Central (Victoria, VA), 2-0, in a non-league battle.

The Dukes now own a 6-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Surry County for a non-league battle on Monday, October 6.
