In Thursday's league challenge, the visiting Independence 76ers volleyball team scored a close 2-1 win over the Del Mar Dons.

With the win, Independence advances its record to 6-2 on the season. The 76ers travel to Overfelt (San Jose, CA) to face the Royals in a test on Friday, October 3. The Royals go into the test with a record of 5-5. Overfelt won 2-1 in their recent league test against Mt. Pleasant (San Jose, CA)

The Dons now have a 11-8 record. They play next when they travel to Cristo Rey San Jose Jesuit for a non-league challenge on Saturday, October 4. Del Mar will play a Lions team coming off a 2-0 league win over Luis Valdez Leadership Academy (San Jose, CA). The Lions record now stands at 2-0.
