The Mecklenburg County Phoenix volleyball squad (Baskerville, VA), was knocked off 2-0 in Thursday's non-league contest with the host Tunstall Trojans (Dry Fork, VA)

The Trojans (13-0) will now prepare for their contest against Gretna (Gretna, VA). The Hawks enter the non-league contest with a 1-5 record. In their last contest, Gretna was knocked off by Dan River (Ringgold, VA), 2-1, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Phoenix encounter the Lunenburg Central Chargers (Victoria, VA) in a non-league battle, on Monday, October 6. Mecklenburg County will attempt to improve on its 4-8 season record. The Chargers go into the battle with a 6-2 record after their 2-0 non-league win over Nottoway (Nottoway, VA).
