In Thursday's league outing, the host Cumberland Beavers soccer squad scored a tight 2-1 win over the Spooner Rails.

The Beavers (4-6) will now prepare for their test against Barron (Barron, WI). The Golden Bears come into the non-league test with a 5-2 record.

The Rails now sport a 3-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Washburn for a non-league test on Tuesday, October 7. Spooner will clash with a Castle Guards team coming off a 1-0 non-league loss to Lakeland (Minocqua, WI). The Castle Guards record now stands at 6-4.
