Hoopeston Cornjerkers (Hoopeston, IL) boosters exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they witnessed their soccer team triumph over the visiting Schlarman Hilltoppers (Danville, IL), 6-1 in a league test.

With the triumph, Hoopeston moves its record to 7-12 on the campaign. The Cornjerkers host Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin (Bismarck, IL) to meet the Blue Devils in a Vermilion Valley test on Tuesday, October 7. The Blue Devils come into the test with a record of 13-3. Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin won 1-0 in their recent non-league outing against St. Teresa (Decatur, IL)

Next up, the Hilltoppers confront the Watseka Warriors (Watseka, IL) in a Vermilion Valley outing, on Tuesday, October 7. Schlarman will attempt to improve on its 1-15 season record.
